Welcome...

So if I am going to ask you to vote for me I should tell you a little bit about myself. Currently I'm Junior, majoring in Public Administration, with a minor in business, and I live on The Hill. Now even though I am majoring in Public Administration, the plan has always been to go to seminary and study to become a pastor. I grew up in Troy, Ohio. It's about a 45 minute drive North West of here, so I don't live too far away from here. My family consists of my beloved brother Adam who is two years younger then myself, and of course my parents.

Three years ago I came here to Cedarville for my freshmen year, and fell in love with all of you here at Cedarville. Even when I came here as a prospective student I witnessed a passion for Christ on a day to day basis that I had only seen every once in a while through out my life. You all have taught me, pushed me, and inspired me to grow in my faith. The second year I was here I had the opportunity to give back to Cedarville and serve as an RA on the Hill. This year I also had the same wonderful opportunity. This year I have also had the blessing of being able to serve in even more roles, as a Bible study leader here on the Hill, and also as the chaplain of College Republicans. For all these things I can only thank and praise God for how he has blessed me.

I've also had the blessing of being able to serve back at home even since leaving for college. The summer after my freshmen year. I started a Bible study for high school and college students back at Troy. I was able to share a lot about God with my friends through the study of the Bible, and it was a great joy to me to see them grow because of it. When the summer ended I found a new leader from the group, and its been a joy to see how the group has grown.

During my sophomore year I asked my pastor if I could preach at church, and I preached my first sermon on how God demonstrates his unconditional love for us in how he loved Jacob at our Saturday night service. This last summer I was able to preach much more. First I preached a sermon on using the Lord's name in vain at another Saturday night service. Then I preached on Father's day on what a father's spiritual leadership of the family should look like at all three services at our church. I then preached a two week series at my church for all three services about evangelism. Then I was asked preach at Salem Lutheran Church, where my Mom grew up, and where my parents were married. Just this Christmas break I preached on the passage in Luke 2 where Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the temple.

The reason I go into such great detail to tell you this is to show you how experienced I am, and therefore prepared to be SGA chaplain. There are a few other things that make me well prepared to be SGA chaplain.

If you were to ask my friends, and especially if you asked my Mom, they would tell you that I am very compassionate. When I see people in need I want to reach out to them and to help them. I hope that God will use me in this way for you as SGA chaplain. That I would be able to use the scripture to tell us things that we need to here.

I am also honest. I'm willing to tell it like it is when other people are not. When I preach at my own church I'm willing to say that there are some things we are doing wrong, and could be doing better. I am just as willing to do the same here, to preach what needs to be heard, to show what we are doing that is not in line with God's will.

I'm also dedicated. I'm dedicated to God, dedicated to the scriptures, and dedicated to you. I've worked hard at my Bible studies, and at my sermons, and I know that I will work hard at SGA chaplain, so I can put forward the best SGA chapels, for God's glory.

Praise and Peace!
